Absolutely right that Independence can only truly mean independence from below and that 'Independence' from above suits the SNP leadership and Westminster too much to actually happen and that times have significantly moved on (derailing of neo lib globalisation most obviously) which the SNP leadership seems blithely unaware (lol-ish)
Interesting interview. Unfortunately, I share the conclusion that meaningful Scottish independence is highly unlikely at this point, due to the contradictions with the SNP leadership regarding motivations, expressed in utterly nonsensical strategy, tactics and policy positions.
Instead of building a movement and workable strategy towards gaining independence, the SNP leadership has destroyed any chance of Scottish independence ever being attained.
From the perspective of 2014, it's really unbelievable what has been done.
