Excellent. Full, calmly and authoritatively argued.

Excellent article. A quick scan of the National and even more so of reader comments, demonstrates how dire the situation is. Many SNP supporters are so emotionally tied to view that SNP=indy and vice versa, that they are incapable of forcing the corrupt and incompetent SNP leadership out the fire exit. They will continue to exist in a make-believe world with zero intellectual rigour or self awareness. Even Robin McAlpine, whom I nearly always agree with, still believes that the SNP can be "saved" and re-directed to the correct path. I do not. From now to May 2026 is going to be painful and embarrassing. My best hope is that behind the cringe-headlines and daily farce, there will be other folks, with integrity and zero pay, working to offer the Scottish people some meaningful alternative futures for our nation (from a range of political starting points which may challenge fixed "left/right" stereotypes"?).

On that note, I pay homage to the late Iain Lawson, RIP. I did not know him personally but he certainly offered intellectual and physical graft to the indy cause in these uninspiring times. The SNP leadership has little intellectual capacity of integrity; much more grift than graft? For Iain Lawson, unfinished business?

A brilliant piece . Cool and damning analysis. So much that needed saying. I am sharing with my network who are in the main still in a state of bewilderment and denial that it has come to this.

Excellent dissection of the current malaise. Opprobrium is heaped daily upon the Party by an extremely hostile Press yet like a boxer on the ropes the Party just stands there taking it. Where is the fire that's needed? Where is the unit I thought that was created to immediately respond and refute anti-Scotland propoganda like GERS? Nowhere.
